Where are your products made?

ALL of our products are made in our home-based studio, located in St. Catharines Ontario, Canada. We grow many botanicals that we use in our formulations on our property, as well as responsibly and sustainably foraging native + invasive species in our surrounding forests + wild spaces.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Since all of our products are 100% natural, they have a shelf life of approximately 6-12 months.

Look for the “period after openingsymbol on the back of your label to find out the specific product shelf life.

6 months: 6M, 12 months: 12M, 18 months: 18M

Are your products vegan + cruelty-free?

Each + every one of our products are crafted without animal products, byproducts or testing. All product testing is done in house by our lovely friends, family + customers. Our products are certified vegan and cruelty-free by PETA. All of our formulas are crafted with 100% plant-based ingredients.

Are your products gluten-free?

Yes! ALL of our products are gluten-free. We only use organic gluten-free oats in our products that contain oats, as well as organic tapioca starch that is also gluten-free.

How do I make my bar soap last longer?

Water is the enemy of all soap... To make your bar soaps last longer, follow these steps:

  • keep your bar out of water when not in use
  • cut your full bars in 1/2
  • store your bars in a cool, dry, dark area when not in use

Is it normal to see slight colour variations in your formulas?

Since our formulations use 100% natural ingredients + are all crafted by hand, you may see slight colour variations in our batches from time to time.

We also see slight colour variations in our raw materials that we receive from our suppliers.

All of our products are monitored carefully to ensure quality + effectiveness.


Responsible + sustainable foraging

With my background in Horticulture combined with my knowledge of healing botanicals + folk / bioregional herbalism, I am able to combine forces to create powerful, healing skincare for all bodies. I have spent many years studying plants both led by self learning + practical education, studying how to tend, care for,  propagate, seed + grow plants. Ethical wild harvesting practices are always in place when foraging.

Reducing waste in the industry

We craft all of our products in small batches, which allows us to closely manage our waste/consumption of raw goods and materials.

We partner with local organic farmers (Ohme Farms) to use their 'seconds' in our CARROT + OATMEAL soap - these carrots are not suitable for commercial sale, so we are able to give them a second life by saving them from the landfill, reducing food waste in the industry. 

What do I do with my shipping materials from my package?

We give our very best efforts as a small business to be as sustainable as possible. We ship all orders using kraft boxes, kraft mailers padded with recycled paper, 100% compostable packing peanuts and sometimes even bubble wrap - we reuse all of our packaging material we receive with shipments.

Please reuse or recycle any bubble wrap you may receive. You can compost the packing peanuts or dissolve them in water. Kraft boxes/mailers can be recycled or composted (if all labels/tape are removed beforehand).

Can I return my containers to be reused?

Although one day we hope to be able to offer a full line-up of refills for used containers, at this time, we are unable to accept containers to be reused. We are in the works of offering product refills which would be packaged in 100% compostable packaging for you to be able to refill your empty containers with. 

Are your formulas biodegradable?

All of our formulas are crafted from truly 100% natural ingredients, meaning that they are biodegradable in nature.

Our bar soaps + soap sticks are wonderful products to take with you on your camping, hiking + adventures.

Even with our all natural formulas, we still recommend using our bar soaps out of active water sources and properly disposing of your grey water to have the lightest footprint on your environment.


How do I use my SARAH'S SOAPS gift card?

Gift cards can be purchased online HERE. They can be used to purchase goods both online + in person at one of our markets.

To use your gift card online, go to your cart and enter your unique discount code in the “Gift Card or Discount Code” section under your list of products being purchased.

To use your gift card in person, be sure to bring a copy (either physical or electronic) of your unique discount code to one of our markets. We will enter this code for you during the checkout process to apply your gift card.

Gift cards can not be used at any of our Stockists.

How do I enter a discount code?

Discount codes are to be entered at checkout after you enter your shipping information.

Only one discount code can be used at a time.

Why isn't my discount code working?

Here are a few reasons why your discount code may not be working:

  • code is misspelled - make sure that you spell the discount code correctly with proper capitalization
  • code does not apply to the products that you are trying to purchase
  • code is expired - be sure you are using a valid discount code
  • discount codes do not work on ritual sets since they are already discounted

What forms of payment do you accept?

On our online shop, we accept: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club debit, SARAH'S SOAPS Gift Cards, and other major credit cards. We do not accept e-transfer or cash for online orders.

At our in-person markets, we accept: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Debit Cards, SARAH'S SOAPS Gift Cards, and cash. We do not accept e-transfers at in-person markets.

Do you have samples?

We offer free soap samples in every online order placed at www.sarahssoaps.ca (while supplies are in stock)

We do our best to offer free samples at our markets as well. Please ask us in person if we have any on hand!

Do you offer custom products/gifts?

Where do you ship to?

We ship all throughout CANADA + THE UNITED STATES. If you do not see your Province/State listed at checkout, please contact us. You can find more information on shipping here.

Canada: all provinces and territories (Canada Post, UPS, ICS, Canpar)

United States of America: all mainland states including Florida, we do not ship to Alaska or Puerto Rico. (Canada Post, USPS, ICS)

We would love to be able to ship worldwide in the near future, so for the time being be sure to follow us on our socials to find out when our worldwide launch is live!

What materials do you use for product packaging?

Our packaging consists of glass, aluminum and compostable kraft paper and do our best to be as plastic-free as possible. Although, our droppers for our serum and mist tops for our facial toners are made of plastic parts, we encourage you to reuse this packaging.  We do our best as a small business to adapt and offer sustainable products, all while monitoring our environmental footprint. 

Glass: (jars, bottles, droppers) reusable, recyclable 

Aluminum: (lids, tins) reusable, indefinitely recyclable

Kraft paper: (tubes, pouches) at home compostable, regionally compostable (location permitting)

Plastic lids: (serums, facial mists) reusable, recyclable (location permitting)


Can I return a product?

Does my order come with a tracking number?

All orders that are shipped in both Canada + USA come with a tracking number, which will be emailed to the email used at checkout once your order is shipped.

Local pick-up orders do not come with a tracking number.
